Kiahuna Beachside Area Information
Kauai is an Hawaiian island of seven micro climates ranging from dry desert to tropical rain forest. Poipu Beach has a semi-arid tropical climate. The near-by Haupu Mountain range blocks most prevailing showers. The average annual rainfall in Poipu is 34 inches. When showers make it into the Poipu area, they are usually brief. Our Kiahuna Beachside Vacation Rentals are located in close proximity to golf courses, tennis courts, restaurants, water sports, and shopping.
In the winter, daytime temperatures in Poipu range from the mid 70's to the lower 80's. Nighttime temperatures are in the low to mid 60's. In the summer, daytime temperatures go as high as the upper 80's, and during the night, down into the low 70's. We always recommend wearing natural fiber clothing such as cotton which is most comfortable in the tropics. We also recommend packing a sweater or jacket and long pants to take on trips up into the mountains, where the air, at 4,000 feet, is cooler.
Who says that a tropical resort need be remote? When it's time for some serious fun. In fact, there's so much to do on Kauai and in the Poipu area, it's hard to choose! Fortunately, there's always the peace and tranquility of Beachside, awaiting your return from every adventure. Feeling energized? A trip to the fitness center beckons. Or, how about a visit to our lush botanical gardens? We've got two! Horseback riding in Hawaii? You bet! You'd be suprised at what the Plantation and Kauai have to offer.
Our favorite upscale dinner restaurants in the Poipu Beach area are Plantation Gardens and The Beach House. For informal dining, particularly breakfast and dinner, we suggest CasaBlanca at the Kiahuna Tennis Club, the Poipu Beach Broiler, Dali Deli in Koloa Town and the Kalaheo Coffee Company in Kalaheo.
